1. Overview

Stats Dugout ("Stats Dugout," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website statsdugout.com and related services (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information about you when you use our Services.

By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Service.

Stats Dugout is an informational platform that aggregates publicly available baseball statistics and related data. We are not a data broker and we do not sell personal information to third parties for their own marketing or commercial purposes.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account Information. When you register for an account, we collect your email address and a hashed version of your password. If you register using a third-party authentication provider, we receive your email address and profile name from that provider. We do not store your third-party authentication credentials directly.

Account Preferences and Activity. We store the list of players you have added to your watchlist, your notification preferences, your subscription status, display preferences (such as which baseball leagues to show), and your history of email and push notification settings.

Payment Information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not receive or store your full credit card number, card verification code, or other raw payment card details. We may receive and store a payment processor customer identifier, subscription status, and transaction dates for account management purposes.

Usage and Log Data. We automatically collect certain technical information when you use the Services, including your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited, timestamps, and other interaction data. This information is used for system security, analytics, and improving the Services.

Communications. If you contact us directly via email or our contact form, we retain your messages and contact information for the purpose of responding to your inquiry and maintaining records of customer support interactions.

Device Tokens for Push Notifications. If you enable browser push notifications, we store a push notification subscription token for your browser or device. This token is used solely to deliver push notifications you have requested. It does not include your personal identity and is removed when you unsubscribe from push notifications or close your account.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

We do not use your information to serve targeted advertising, and we do not share your personal information with advertisers or third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

Service Providers. We engage third-party companies and individuals to perform functions on our behalf, including payment processing, email delivery, push notification delivery, and usage analytics. These providers access your information only as necessary to perform their functions and are bound by contractual obligations to keep it confidential and not to use it for other purposes.

Legal Requirements. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, regulatory requirement, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Stats Dugout, our users, or the public.

Business Transfers. If Stats Dugout is involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, reorganization, or similar business transaction, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or a notice on the Services if such a transfer occurs and your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.

With Your Consent. We may share your information for any other purpose with your express prior consent.

We do not share, sell, or disclose your personal information to any baseball league, sports organization, team, player association, or data provider in connection with the Sports Data displayed on our platform.

5. Cookies and Tracking

Stats Dugout uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

We do not use cookies for behavioral advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking. You may configure your browser to refuse cookies; however, certain features of the Services may not function correctly without them.

6. Sports Data We Display

Stats Dugout aggregates and displays publicly available baseball statistics, rosters, transaction records, injury information, and related sports data from various publicly available sources. This data relates to public figures (professional and collegiate athletes) engaged in public activities. We do not display the private personal information of athletes such as home addresses, private financial information, or private health records, and we do not solicit or receive any non-public athlete data.

Sports Data displayed on our platform is provided for informational purposes only. We cannot guarantee its accuracy, completeness, or timeliness, and we expressly disclaim all liability for decisions made based on it. Please review our Terms of Service — particularly the Sports Data Disclaimer section — for a full explanation of our disclaimers.

7. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, password hashing (your password is never stored in plain text), access controls on our systems, and regular security reviews of our infrastructure.

No security system is completely impenetrable. We cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights or interests, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing [email protected]. We will process deletion requests within a reasonable time, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain records.

Certain data may be retained in anonymized or aggregated form for analytics and platform improvement purposes even after account deletion. Log data and usage records may be retained for up to 12 months for security and fraud prevention purposes. Billing and transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years for accounting and legal compliance purposes.

If you close your account, all player tracking preferences, notification settings, and subscription data associated with your account will be deleted. Any data you have exported or downloaded prior to account closure remains under your control.

9. Third-Party Services

The Services may contain links to third-party websites, services, or applications. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you access through or alongside the Services. Stats Dugout is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of any third-party service.

Our payment processor and authentication providers operate under their own privacy policies, which govern how they handle your information during checkout and sign-in flows.

If you are a California resident, you have certain rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used, the right to request deletion of your personal information, the right to correct inaccurate personal information, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not have actual knowledge that we sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

To submit a privacy request under California law, email us at [email protected] with "California Privacy Request" in the subject line. We will respond within the time frame required by applicable law.

12. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, children under the age of 18. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a user under 18, we will take steps to delete it as promptly as possible. If you believe a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at [email protected].

13. Changes to This Policy
